Income Uplift Strategy

An enhanced income stream, comfortably ahead of rates available on cash deposits, is a high priority for many investors in the current low interest environment.

Our Income Uplift offering has the dual objectives of :

  • Providing an enhanced level of income over the medium to long term; and
  • Delivering this in a way that has a focus on capital stability

Our Income Uplift portfolios are designed for investors with a low to moderate risk appetite, who do wish more dependable income, but are equally focused on security and value.

With longer lifespans, the key to maintaining our standard of living and doing the things we enjoy is to use opportunities to seek a more consistent income stream. And for many parents and grandparents, being able to support the younger generations often increases income requirements.

For the Income Uplift strategy, we adopt a more concentrated approach than for the multi asset portfolios, so that we can focus on optimising the outcome you have indicated is your priority.

Our strategy for producing a steadier income stream comes  from a diversified mix of tactical and defensive investments, designed to protect against inflation and enhance the rate of return. Despite the income bias to the strategy, the total return will also include an element of capital growth. Although the total return over the medium to long term will come largely from income-producing assets, we would expect to see up to 25 -30% of the portfolio deployed in equities for capital growth, with the balance coming from income sources.
